Associate Broker

Maximum is seeking an Associate Broker to fill an available position in our Chicago office.

This team member will be responsible for submitting proposals, securing quotes, and binding both new and renewal transportation accounts with the transportation marketing team. The ideal candidate is one who can uphold our high standards of service to our Retail customers & markets. This team member must have the ability to manage several accounts & lines of coverage on a monthly basis while maintaining thorough communication with the other brokers & producers involved on those accounts. The candidate must be able to manage their time diligently and maintain organization while understanding certain immediate requirements to prioritize efforts on any given day.

Qualifications Required:
1-3 years commercial insurance experience (transportation-specific experience not required)
Self-motivation and independence
Work independently or collaboratively
Critical thinking – ability to learn, problem solve, and troubleshoot
Attention to detail
Ability to prioritize tasks/jobs
Ability to learn, retain, and adapt to changes in the current transportation insurance marketplace
Proficient time management
Strong technical skills including experience with Microsoft Office Suite

Primary Responsibilities:
Maintain assigned book of renewal accounts
Prepare and market submissions to insurance companies –renewal accounts
Work up quotes and binders to send to retail agency clients – renewal accounts
Communicate status updates and follow-ups with coworkers, clients, and vendors>br /> Learn and understand transportation coverages, markets, and appetites
Uphold service standards on assigned accounts
Assist other transportation team brokers as needed
Participate in weekly team meetings and carrier/agent meetings as required

Associate Surplus Lines Analyst

Maximum is seeking an Associate Surplus Lines Analyst to join our growing Operations team in Chicago.

The successful candidate will be in a compliance/regulatory role, working as a liaison between our staff and the various states as well as the new InsCipher filing platform. This person will focus on auditing prepared tax filings as well as submitting daily filings to high-transaction states. Over time, the candidate will learn the procedures and requirements in all states, while serving as the primary filer in a portion of the states and a secondary filer in the remaining states.

Qualifications Required:
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

Adhere to all state surplus lines regulations and filing deadlines

Experience with AIM and ImageRight software is a plus – training will be provided

Primary Responsibilities:
Ensure Maximum remains in good standing in each state related to surplus lines tax filings and payment deadlines
Finalize tax filings in the InsCipher platform for states having direct connections
Perform manual filing entries in states without direct connections to InsCipher
Thoroughly review prepared filings for accuracy; obtain corrections internally
Regularly perform reconciliations between state filings and Maximum records to confirm filings have been performed
Respond to state tags in a timely manner
Work closely with the Accounting team to convey payment requirements / methods
Assist in resolving outstanding tags or missed filings as they are discovered
Learn other basic duties in Operations to serve as a team backup
